Boys long underwear has undoubtedly transformed itself over the years of the history of skiing and snowboarding. Gone are the days of the non-practical thick and bulky one-piece boys long underwear. Now, boys first layers are lightweight, hi-tech, and sold as separates—to ensure that all layering tops and bottoms will fit perfectly. 

Long Underwear and Base Layers for Boys, Teens

Boys first layers are made with fabrics that are moisture-wicking and made to fit each and every body type. There are several options for boys top and bottom layering items, from fitted layers to soft and warm fleece layers in both long sleeve shirts and long pants. Although cotton may come to mind as a great first layer, it is actually best to not wear at all as a first layer. Cotton does not allow moisture and sweat to breathe, therefore making him cold and likely to spend less time outdoors! 
 
It is extremely important to purchase quality brand name boys first layers. Sending your son on the ski slopes or on a sledding hill without warm first layers is like sending him out in the pouring rain without an umbrella!  First layers that take away moisture, keep in the warmth, and ultimately keep him dry are the best types of first layers available. Correct top and bottom layers for boys should transfer the sweat away from the skin, keeping him warm, dry, and happy!
